The waves at seabluffe this morning were pretty bad, i went out around 8:30 and there was a huge deep spot that made the waves completely die then close out in very shallow water. I'm not sure if it was the tide or the swell that caused this, but i hope it is better tomorrow.

I got up around 6:30 this morning to try and beat the high tide, and it turns out it was already touching the cliff. i got a few good waves and did a couple off the lips, but i'm not sure this was the best time to go out. Around 12:30 would be the best because it is low tide and the santa-anas will keep it clean. The waves in the morning for the past week have been pretty mushy without much shape. the swell is supposed to be picking up all day today, then will drop to almost nothing sunday night. the best time to hit it would be tomorrow morning around 6 or 12 am.

The wind this morning was the worst it has been for a long time, i woke up at 8 am and went to check the waves to find that it was about 6 ft and there were white-caps everywhere. there wasn't one person out between Grandview and Ponto. then later today it rained making this a bad day for surfing.

When i first checked the waves today, they looked pretty fun it was hollow and medium sized.There werent too many people out so it was easy to find an uncrowded left. I paddled for a set and knew i would get slammed but i pulled in anyway, then after getting sucked over and tumbled around,my board hit me in the face and cut my lip.It wouldn't have been bad if my braces hadn't cut the inside of my lip.It was still pretty fun and tomorrow should be better,this time ill try and think twice when picking my waves(note,for those who couldnt figure this out, that picture is not me,but this is what i thought happened)

The waves at seaside during surf pe this morning were great. it was about 5ft and slamming on the inside. there were huge backside barrels and i saw a few people get sucked over the top.  it only happened to me once and it was my fault. the surf is supposed to be dropping over the next few days so this may have been the best waves we will get for a while. 

I have been thinking about shaping my own surfboard for a while and i have been doing a lot of research and found out that new shortboard blanks cost about $65 which is a pretty good deal considering a new shortboard can cost up to $500.
